IMPROVING LEARNING AND ENHANCING MINISTRY THROUGH  INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT) IN NIGERIAN CHRISTIAN COLLEGE (NCBC), UKPOM, ABAK

In Jenny Arledge’s words,  “Technology can become the ‘wings’ that will allow the educational world to fly farther and faster than ever before—if we will allow it.” Of course, agreeing with Arledge, the potentials of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) cannot be overemphasized, as it enhances almost every aspect of human endeavor in this current dispensation, including education.

Poised for improving the academic standard and overall success of the Ministry, the Nigerian Christian Bible College (NCBC), Ukpom, Abak, has fully embraced ICT. With the help of the President of ACSF, brother Chad Wagner, the NCBC has set up an  ICT center on the college, equipped with the Starlink internet and other relevant facilities. This has been of tremendous help as learning now is eased and better, with staff members and students being able to carry out research and access online publications and so on.

More so, and to properly harness the potentials the ICT offers, the NCBC has designed courses and lectures that train students on the use of ICT, thereby, equipping them with relevant knowledge of ICT  needed to live and function better in the modern society. The NCBC is indeed, putting her students on the ‘wings’ of ICT, improving their research skills, presentations and lessons in the churches.

Recall that the NCBC also runs a Distance Learning Centre  and an online program. These have been greatly enhanced by the ICT facility. Lectures are transmitted virtually, recordings are also done for the online classes and dropped for the students who listen to them at their convenience. With this, more people are reached, who desired to study the Bible but could not make it to the campus for their various schedules and activities.

We are very thankful to African Christian Schools Foundation (ACSF) and donors who continue to make these happen for the improvement and propagation of the gospel. God bless you richly.
