West Nigeria Christian College commenced the 2020/2021 academic session on the 5th of October with the orientation and registration of newly admitted students. Prior to this, online entrance examination was conducted for various categories of students for different centres.
For WNCC, one the blessings of the Covid-19 pandemic was the opening of vista of opportunities to take the classroom to wherever students may be found through virtual platforms driven by information technology. To this end, two new parttime centres were established in Enugu, South East of Nigeria and in Cotonou, Benin Republic. Lectures are relayed to the centres from the newly established virtual classroom on campus.
Similarly, the earlier advertised Bachelor’s degree program in Christian Ministry took off at the beginning of the new session. The robust curriculum of the degree program consists of courses laden with powerful tools to help students navigate the murky waters of contemporary ministry.
The new frontiers and the new degree program boosted the college’s enrollment which currently stood at 96, made up students on campus and at the part time centers. The commencement service, an annual ecclesiastical gathering to commit the new session into God’s hand in prayers and worship was held on October 16, 2020. The theme for the school year; ‘Living Our Values: Excellence’ was launched at the ceremony.
