You can help prepare the next generation of church leaders in Nigeria and West Africa prepare for the future of the churches of Christ! While we always are accepting cash gifts, there are many other ways that someone can partner with this good work…and some of those ways one might be able to make an even BIGGER impact than a cash gift alone. That is through our ACSF Legacy Group.

What can we Give in the ACSF Legacy Group?
There are multiples ways to make a eternal impact with African Christian Schools. Look into some of the ways in which you can give towards African Christian Schools…some of which may surprise you!
Gifts of Cash
A gift of cash is a simple and easy way for you to make a gift to African Christian Schools. It will make an immediate impact with ACSF and you can also take a charitable income tax deduction.
Give Online: You can click HERE to give online. Your gift will be processed quickly and safely using our secure server.
Give Via ACH/Debit: You can contact the ACSF office to have donations either one-time or regularly automatically debited from your account. Contact the ACSF office at 615-542-6282 to set up your ACH transactions today!
Give via Cash: You can send a check or money order to our office PO Box. Simply let us know how you want the gift to be used by including a note or writing on the memo line.
NOTE: If you decide to mail a check at year-end, make sure it is postmarked by December 31. Even though it may reach the ACSF office in the new year, you can still take the tax deduction for the year the check was mailed! Keep that in mind for your year-end tax planning.
Gifts of Stocks and Bonds
You can also donate appreciated securities, like stocks and bonds, which makes an easy way to you to make a gift to African Christian Schools. You can avoid paying capital gains tax on the sale of the appreciated stock AND receive a charitable income tax deduction. To say it another way, if you take that stock or bond, sale it, and then give the funds to ACSF, you may have to pay taxes on the funds received from the sale which will diminish your gift to ACSF! No one wants that! Conversely, if you simply donate the stock or bond, you can avoid those pesky taxes and give the total value of the security to further Christian education in Africa. Please contact the African Christian Schools office as we can provide you all of the details.
Gifts of Real Estate
Did you know you can also donate appreciated real estate, such as a home, vacation property, undeveloped land, farmland, ranch or commercial property can make a great gift to African Christian Schools. By doing so, you may avoid paying capital gains ta on the sale of the real estate and receive a charitable income tax deduction based on the value of the gift.
Your real property may be given to African Christian Schools by executing or signing a deed transferring ownership. You may deed part or all of your real property to African Christian Schools. Your gift will generally be based on the property’s fair market value which will be established by an independent appraisal. Contact the ACSF office for more information.

How to Partner in the Legacy Group?
Partnering with African Christian Schools can be done directly or through a gift style that can provide tax benefits and perhaps even income in your retirement years! We have several gift styles for you to consider:
Bequest
You can designate African Christian Schools as the beneficiary of all or part of your assets by will, trust, or beneficiary designation form. A bequest is one of the easiest and most flexible ways you can leave a legacy impact with African Christian Schools that will have an eternal impact.
With the help of an attorney, you can include language in your will/trust specifying a gift to be made to family, friends, or to charitable organizations like African Christian Schools Foundation as part of your overall estate plan. You can also make a bequest using a beneficiary designation form.
Ways to make a bequest for ACSF
- Include a bequest to African Christian Schools Foundation in your will or revocable trust.
- Designate African Christian Schools Foundation as a full, partial, or contingent beneficiary of your retirement account, like IRA, 401(k), 403(b) or pension.
- Name African Christian Schools as a beneficiary in your life insurance policy. That is an easy way to make a huge impact!

IRA Rollover
You may be looking for a way to make a bigger impact in this good work of top-quality Christian education. If you are 70 1/2 or older, an IRA charitable rollover is a great way you can help continue this good work and also benefit this year!
An IRA Rollover allows you to avoid taxes on transfers of up to $108,000 from your IRA to African Christian Schools. These gifts are not subject to deduction limits on charitable gifts. What a great and easy way to make an eternal impact!
Contact your IRA plan administrator to make a gift from you IRA to us. Your IRA funds will be directly transferred to our African Christian Schools to help continue this good work. You may also contact the ACSF office if you’d like to discuss your gift to be used for a specific purpose (restricted). NOTE: IRA Charitable rollover gifts do NOT qualify for charitable donations.
Beneficiary Designation Gifts
Donating part or all of your unused retirement assets, such as your IRA, 401(k), 403(b), pension, or other tax-deferred plan, is an excellent way to make a gift to African Christian Schools that will not cost you anything in your lifetime!
This is a great way to support African Christian Schools as well as to continue using your account as long as you need to. Your heirs can instead receive tax-advantaged assets from the estate and receive potential estate tax savings from an estate tax deduction.
Did you know that 40%-60% of your retirement assets may be taxed if you leave them to your heirs at your death? As a charity, African Christian Schools is not taxed upon receiving an IRA or other retirement plan assets. Contact your retirement plan custodian and designate a future gift to African Christian Schools.
Charitable Gift Annuity
You may not be comfortable with the fluctuating global markets and would rather rely upon a stable, reliable source of fixed payments for life. If that describes you, consider a charitable gift annuity with African Christian Schools.
A charitable gift annuity is a way to make a gift to support the mission of African Christian Schools. You transfer cash or property to African Christian Schools Foundation. In exchange, we promise to pay fixed payments to you for life. The payment could be high depending on your age and a portion of each payment may even be tax-free! You will receive a charitable income tax deduction for the gift portion of the annuity but also have deep satisfaction, knowing that you will be helping to train the next generation of church leaders in west Africa!
If you decide to fund your gift annuity with cash, a significant portion of the annuity payment will be tax-free. You may also make a gift of appreciated securities to fund a gift annuity and avoid a portion of the capital gains tax. Please contact your financial advisor for more details but this sounds like a great way to put your assets to work for you and provide you a steady, reliable income for life!
Charitable Remainder Unitrust
If you’ve head property for any length of time, you’ll know that you might be in danger of capital gains taxes. Perhaps you recently sold property and are looking for a way to save on taxes this year and plan for retirement. A charitable remainder unitrust might be just for you!
With a charitable remainder unitrust, you can receive income for life, for a term of up to 20 years or life plus a term of up to 20 years. You can avoid capital gains on the sale of your appreciated assets. You can receive an immediate charitable income tax deduction for the charitable portion of the trust AND establish a lasting legacy for African Christian Schools.
