NCBC’S SEMINAR REINVIGORATES PREACHING MINISTRY IN NIGERIA
The efficacy of the Nigerian Christian Bible College’s (NCBC) Annual Preachers’ and Church Leaders’ Seminar remains unquestionable considering its enormous influence already felt across Nigeria. The 70th edition of the event which took place between the May 14 – 17, 2024, featured talented Christian lecturers and professors within and outside Nigeria, with more than 180 attendees daily.
The theme, Depression in Ministry was timely and captivating, considering Nigeria’s harsh economy and depression which has plagued ministers of the gospel and other church leaders in ministry. The seminar was an avenue for NCBC to showcase the mastery of her e-learning capabilities as some of the resource persons such as Brother Chad Wagner, President, African Christian Schools Foundation (ACSF) and Dr. Kevin Shelby, lectured and encouraged the participants from the USA via Zoom.
The following among others were the resolutions following interactive sessions:
- Preachers were encouraged to, still, preach the word even in the face of the depressed economy.
- Bible Schools in the country should introduce to their curriculum, Financial Investment and Entrepreneurship programs so as to aid tent-making preaching.
- Preachers were advised to upgrade their educational backgrounds and embrace other opportunities for self improvement so as to enable them provide the much-needed services to the church of God.
- Congregations should install savings and retirement packages for their preachers as preachers develop good savings lifestyle through cooperative societies managed by members of the church.
The seminar, to God’s glory, was very impactful and already yielding fruits of encouragement to preachers and church leaders, in particular and the Christian ministry in general.
