CATCHING THEM YOUNG WITH ITEDA AND SAP—ONE BIG THING HAPPENING IN WNCC

The story of WNCC is a story of her students and the transformative work in their lives through their encounter with the Word and the principles we live by in our community. At WNCC we live by two principles—the principle of ITEDA and SAP. ITEDA is an acronym for Integrity, Teamwork, Excellence, Discipline, and Accountability. SAP is an acronym for Spiritual Formation, Academic Excellence, and Personality Development.

Our students come from homes, families and a country that live by certain principles. Some of these principles are contrary to the principles of scripture. For young people they live by the principle, You Only Live Once (YOLO). This principle has influenced values and actions that inspire violence, fraud, insincerity, and other vices. Young people who hold onto this principle believe that since a person only lives once, he has to make the best of the life he has now, no matter the things the person has to do to have this best life. But WNCC have found strength and have overcome these negative principles by incorporating the right set of principles into our students. ITEDA and SAP are principles we live by. They are a sole source of positivity in light of the negativity of internet scam, financial dishonesty, fraud, etc., We have found strength not from an outside source but from our rich culture of principles. We have incorporated these principles into how we live to the point that our activities on campus are guided by these principles. From the instructions our students receive in the classroom, to the admonitions they receive in chapel, to their extra-curricula activities, to our outreaches to hospitals, prisons, and correctional homes, all of these are guided by the principle of ITEDA and SAP. Imagine a community where young people emerge from as solutions to the problem of the country, the society, the family, and the church! This is one big thing happening in WNCC.
