PART-TIME STUDY CENTRES: EXPANDING THE REACH AND IMPACT OF WNCC
Mowe/Ibafo (34 students) and Eha-Ahemufu (15 students) Study Centres
West Nigeria Christian College & School of Biblical Studies (WNCC & SBS) continues to
expand its mission of providing accessible, sound, biblical and theological education beyond
the walls of its main campus. The Mowe/Ibafo (Ogun State) and Eha-Ahemufu (Enugu State)
part-time study centres are important expressions of this vision, bringing structured Christian
education closer to students who may otherwise be unable to pursue residential study.
Through these centres, students are able to combine their education with work, family
responsibilities, and active service in their local churches and communities. The centres
therefore provide more than classroom instruction—they create opportunities for Christian
formation, leadership development, and community transformation.
The part-time model enables the College to reach students in their own communities.
Students from diverse backgrounds can access programmes in biblical studies and Christian
ministry while remaining connected to the churches, families, workplaces, and communities
in which they already serve. This represents an important expansion of the College’s
influence. The College is no longer limited to the people who can come to its campus;
through these centres, its educational mission goes to the people.
The greatest value of these programmes is not simply the certificate students receive at
graduation. The deeper goal is to equip men and women to understand Scripture, teach
others, serve their congregations, develop as Christian leaders, and respond faithfully to the
challenges of contemporary society. What is learned in the classroom can immediately be
applied in local congregations through preaching, Bible teaching, evangelism, discipleship,
youth ministry, leadership, and community service. Consequently, a student’s education has
the potential to influence far more people than the individual student alone. A trained student
may become a better Bible teacher, minister, church leader, mentor, or community servant.
That student may subsequently teach and mentor others, creating a continuing cycle of impact
long after graduation.
Mowe/Ibafo and Eha-Ahemufu study centers demonstrate the potential of WNCC & SBS to
establish sustainable educational presence in communities beyond its primary campus. Each
centre becomes a channel through which the College can reach new students, strengthen local
churches, identify emerging leaders, and contribute to the development of Christian
communities. The long-term vision is therefore not merely to maintain these centres, but to
see them become hubs of biblical education, leadership formation, and Christian service. The
work already taking place at these centres is a significant investment in the future of the
Church and the wider community. With continued support, more students can be reached,
more leaders equipped, and more communities influenced.
When a sponsor supports one student, the impact does not end with that student’s graduation.
It continues through every person that student will teach, lead, mentor, and serve. Reach more
people. Equip them well. Strengthen the Church. Develop leaders. Transform communities.
Multiply the impact. To God be the Glory!
