SERVANT LEADERSHIP EXEMPLIFIED BY WNCC INTERNS AND GRADUATES

The period, May 10 – May 24, 2026, was scheduled as the practicum for our first-year diploma in
biblical studies students, across Lagos and Abeokuta. This period has provided valuable
opportunities for experiential learning and ministerial integration, enabling students to apply
classroom knowledge within real ministry contexts.

Throughout the past two weeks, students have actively participated in various aspects of the church
and community ministry, including worship services, pastoral engagements, evangelistic outreach,
discipleship activities, and administrative responsibilities. Their commitment, enthusiasm, and
willingness to learn have been evident as they continue to develop practical ministerial skills and
deepen their understanding of servant leadership.

The practicum experience has also fostered personal growth, spiritual maturity, and increased
confidence in ministry engagement. Host congregations have expressed appreciation for the
students’ dedication and positive contributions to the life and mission of their respective ministry
placements.

Additionally, this month, we celebrate one of our recent graduates, Timothy Nwigbo, whose journey
since completing his ministerial training beautifully demonstrates the core values of servant
leadership. Following graduation, he returned to this home congregation with a renewed sense of
purpose, deeper theological understanding, and a stronger commitment to Christian service. The
knowledge, spiritual formation, and practical ministry skills acquired during his studies have enabled
him to integrate seamlessly into the life and ministry of his local congregation.

Since his return, he has become actively involved in several ministry areas. He regularly participates
in evangelistic outreaches, sharing the gospel within his community and helping to strengthen the
congregation’s ministry efforts. He has also become an integral member of the congregation’s music
ministry, using his gifts in singing and worship leadership to enrich congregational worship and
encourage fellow believers.

Beyond these responsibilities, he has contributed to discipleship programs, youth engagement
initiatives, and various church activities aimed at nurturing spiritual growth and community
development. His dedication and servant-hearted leadership have earned the respect of church
leaders and members alike.

Reflecting on his journey, he acknowledges that his theological education provided not only
academic knowledge but also the practical tools, spiritual discipline, and confidence needed to serve
effectively within his local context. Today, he continues to grow as a leader while making meaningful
contributions to the mission and ministry of his congregation.

Stories such as his are powerful reminders of the enduing impact of theological education. Through
your generous support, graduates are returning to their communities equipped to serve, lead, and
transform lives for the glory of God. We sincerely thank you for partnering with us in this important
mission.
